How it all began
CyrcID was born from a practical need. Founder Jakub Jamný, while preparing his own fashion accessories brand, discovered that without a credible way to document the origin of materials and environmental impacts, even well-intentioned sustainable innovation can be perceived as greenwashing.
"The QR code with verifiable information I created for my own products became the foundation of the platform that textile companies are now showing interest in."
Market research showed that from 2027, textile companies selling in the EU will be required to equip their products with digital product passports under the ESPR regulation. Of an estimated 190,000 textile companies in the EU, fewer than 5% have DPP implemented — most are waiting because available solutions are too expensive or complex.
Enterprise platforms cost 1.2–2.5 million CZK per year with implementation at 0.5–1.25 million (6–12 months). SME solutions offer subscriptions of 250–750 thousand CZK per year, but still with 2–4 months of implementation. Product data is also often fragmented across different formats, complicating both regulatory compliance and practical use of passports.
CyrcID provides a unified environment for data management, passport generation and versioning, publication across various channels, and connection to circular flows with advanced features at a fraction of the cost.
Long-term, we are not just building a DPP tool for legislative compliance, but a central hub for product lifecycle data. Today no one systematically tracks what happens to products after sale, even though there is demand for these features.
